Our quiet, family friendly touring & camping site is tucked away in the beautiful Dorset countryside, close to the world famous Jurassic Coast. Lovely spacious pitches are situated in a large open field where you can watch the children play while you sit and relax.

All pitch prices include: 1 unit (caravan, motorhome/campervan, tent/trailer tent), 1 car, 2 adults & EHU.

ALL our pitches have 16 amp Electric Hook-up (EHU)

For all High & Peak season bookings there is a minimum 3 night stay policy.

Check in/out times

Check in time – 2pm.
Check out time – 11am.

Dogs

We welcome well behaved owners and their dogs (max 2 dogs per pitch).
We cannot accept any bookings with pets in our Glamping accommodation.
We have an off lead, fenced dog exercise area with poop bin, scoop & bags.

We have a warm water dog wash and drying room.

Spa

There is a Spa on site open by appointment all year (unless otherwise noted on the website) with Hot tub to hire and a range of Treatments available.

Sauna, steam room & relaxation room available.

Site Facilities

We have two award winning shower blocks; hot water is included & there are sockets for hair/shaving appliances.

The shower blocks are cleaned twice daily – one toilet remains open during this time.

We have a wet room for disabled use.
There are yellow sharps boxes available in the shower rooms.

Firepits

These are available to hire as an optional extra with your booking or once on site (subject to availability) no one can hire a firepit without first signing the Firepit hire contract T&Cs.

We do not allow personal firepits on site; only our logs can be used.

Washing & Cleaning

Coin operated laundries (£1 & 20p).

Dishwashing rooms on site.

Fun & games

We have a ball games area in the big field and a range of table games such as pool in the barn on site (children under 12 must be supervised here).

Public Transport

We are not on any public transport routes.
The nearest bus route is X53 from the A35 at Charmouth or Morcombelake.
The nearest train station is either Axminster or Crewkerne.

Caravan Storage

We offer caravan storage on site – please talk to a member of staff on site or email/call.

Food

Takeaway food is available in the barn on site – Bank holidays and school summer holidays – WEEKEND ONLY

Pubs

Nearest pub is called The Shaves Cross Inn & is just over a mile from the site, a 15 minute walk.

Shops

Nearest shops are Felicities Farm Shop at Morcombelake (2 miles).
Charmouth (3 miles) has a small supermarket.
Bridport is the closest large town with Morrisons, Lidl, Co-op & Waitrose (none are 24 hours), the nearest fuel stations are here too.

We do not accept supermarket deliveries onto site – please contact us to arrange this.

Walking

There are miles and miles of walks direct from site along public footpaths & bridleways.

Trails which are nearby include the Wessex Ridgeway, Monarchs Way, Jubilee Trail, South West Coast Path and Thorncombe Woods.

Many local National Trust properties have some lovely walks too.

Fishing

There are two deep unfenced fishing ponds on site, you will need a Rod Licence and a fishing pass to be able to use them. Rod licences are available from the Post Office and fishing passes can be added as an extra online when booking or bought from reception on site.

Tractor Rides

We offer tractor trailer rides on site around the fields in high season – dry weather only.

Beaches

The closest beach is Charmouth, then either West Bay or Lyme Regis.

Petrol Stations

The nearest petrol station can be found at Morrisons in Bridport. An alternative can be located on East Road (A35), just off the roundabout.

Miscellaneous

Ice packs can be frozen in the freezer in the barn freely accessible to all

We only exchange Flogas red propane cylinders 7kg on site

We’re only 3 miles from the main road but you do need to plan your journey well before you visit. Our beautiful rural location means there are some narrow country lanes and some routes are hilly which are best avoided if you’re towing a caravan.

Our large gated entrance is easy to spot with ‘The Dorset Hideaway’ signs on both sides – you can’t miss us!

We do not allow any sign written commercial vehicles of any sort, anywhere on site. All vehicles must be DVLA compliant.
