The Dorset Hideaway is an award winning small, luxury secluded Camping, Caravanning and Glamp site, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site Of West Dorset.
Only three miles from the main tourist route into the region, it offers unrivalled and uninterrupted views across unspoilt countryside and farmland with the highest hills in inland Dorset as a panoramic backdrop.
Guests can enjoy first class facilities in the new contemporary Amenity building, relax and unwind with a treatment in the Spa, book onto one of the art and craft courses, and fish in the well-stocked small pond.
The Hub is the centre of all things on site, it is small but perfectly formed. It’s the reception to check-in pay deposits and pitch fees. It’s the shop to buy local produce & crafts, place an order for milk & daily bread/croissants, place a food order for evening take-aways, (on set days) freeze ice packs, buy a cold drink, ice lolly or ice cream, report a problem, ask a daft question, hire a fire pit, buy some logs, hire a DVD, board game or large outdoor game or ‘borrow’ something you’ve forgotten! It’s the information room where you can find out what’s on locally and on site, where to go and what to do, look at maps and leaflets, exchange a book.
Just opposite is the site recycling facility where everything has a home & the big/broken stuff is at yours.
This is the place where everything gets cleaned, from the pots and pans, people and plates to the laundry & loo. Hairdryers and handdryers. The laundry is not available before 10am & after 7pm to maintain the peace on site. The block has underfloor heating & solar thermal water heating to help to do our bit for our beautiful planet. Water is softened. There is also a disabled wetroom & babychange facility. All areas have speakers with music playing quietly in the background.
Fresh water & grey water waste are located just in front of the building and the chemical toilet waste disposal is in it’s own room marked on the front of the building complete with basin & soap to help make the not so nice tasks and bit nicer!

This is the onsite Spa facility, where you can book from amongst relaxing heated spa pedicures, manicures, massages & facials… whilst gazing at the amazing views, watching the birds and sipping a healthy fruit juice, hot herbal infused tea or ice cool mineral water. Then why not hire the hot tub (May – Sept only) for an hour & sit back with a glass of bubbly and watch the world go by. Perhaps the hammock is more your thing where you kick back on the decking, grab a read & fall fast asleep, looking up at the tree canopy above.
Be assured this area is for adults only and no children are allowed.
The Grub Pub

Take a tour of the site
From A35 east or west bound (if towing do not attempt to arrive from any other route – this is the shortest, flattest, easiest route, whatever the satnav says!) turn at the Art gallery and go downhill steadily to the crossroads with the pink house opposite, turn right at this junction (if approaching from the west and turning down Berne Lane then at this crossroads go straight ahead to continue to Gassons Lane turning). Continue for a short distance and then watch out for small single track turning on your left “Gassons Lane” opposite Berehayes. Continue along this lane for approximately 2 miles – DO NOT turn off, wait until you see the main pylon wires above you and as you go under them, slow down you are nearly here. The entrance is on a corner, set back from the road with clearly lit signs & a set of wooden double gates. Congratulations you have arrived – you can start to relax from here on…
